Using condition monitoring to reach a good level of Corrugating Reliability means not just detecting machine condition problems, but actually eliminating them. A Condition Monitoring programme conducted inconjunction with an RCFA activity (Root Cause Failure Analysis) and planned attempts to eliminate the failure from reoccurring, is the basis of a true Reliability programme.
However, before problems can be eliminated they must first be detected and with corrugating equipment this is not so simple. Corrugating machines, run at varying speeds, have high temperatures and changing loads which means specialised skills sets and equipment / processes are needed.
Our systems for hand held and online monitoring consider these difficult operating conditions. The online monitoring systems use specially developed on-line sensors and transmitters and can be incorporated into PLC control systems. The transmitters have raw vibration outputs for direct analysis using a vibration analyser and from trending purposes.
